Good, but Best Picture worthy? To be fair, I'll have to see the rest of the Best Pic nominees but I'm going to say that, while a solid film with great casting and a beautiful landscape, the only reason I see that it's in its current position is because it's a feel-good movie in a world littered with feel-bad films.

Next weekend the plan is to see Frost/Nixon but who knows.

I feel EXACTLY the same way about Slumdog. I can't wait to see The Wrestler. We just saw Defiance yesterday...solid and a good story, but not very good acting...at all.

I felt the exact opposite about Defiance. I thought Liev Schriber saved the movie and kept the plot from being just another Nazi vs. Jew showcase. I do think all the Oscar buzz that surrounded Craig pre-release was bogus however. He's miscast.

The Wrestler could be very good--I'll admit that from elementary through parts of college, I watched pro wrestling and so I know a bit about how hard the lifestyle is and that The Wrestler depicts it well. I know that I'm happy Mickey Rourke is 'back'.

That's what I've been hearing though I was sold on the film by Sam Rockwell.

Oh, c'mon, I'm sure when you saw that scene of Jamal as a kid about to jump down that slushy pool of crap, you know you started feeling queasy. :p

I laughed because once he came out of the gelatinous mess, it looked like melted peanut butter and nothing more. Probably the funniest scene of the movie.
