Some people spend their whole lives preparing the answer to this question: What albums are on your personal all-time Top 10 list?

Playing along:

Hum - You'd Prefer An Astronaut
Alan Sparhawk - Solo Guitar
Radar Bros. - The Fallen Leaf Pages
Neil Young - Comes a Time
Jim O'Rourke - Insignificance
Willie Nelson - Red Headed Stranger
Wilco - Summerteeth
Miles Davis - A Tribute to Jack Johnson
Talking Heads - More Songs About Buildings and Food</i>
Screaming Trees - Dust

This probably wouldn't be a permanent Top 10 but these are 10 albums I did and do listen to more than anything else.

Crap, I totally forgot about Insignificance on mine. I just came across this journal looking at other answers...had to go like 20 down to see something decent!

Glad you dig (some of/all of) the list.

I followed that link and saw someone had put Viva La Vida by Coldplay on their list. Can we agree that that person is never allowed to make any kind of list ever again?

I haven't really paid attention to Coldplay in awhile. Jacelyn and I went and saw them last year and the light show during the concert was enough to put me off of them.

I want to sit down and take the time to do a Top 10 or 20 list of my favorite albums. It would be a thinker.

It's not that I dislike Coldplay. I think they're a perfectly good band. But their glossy new album that came out in the last year and is on iPod commercials? Really? That's in your top ten? Has this person only ever listened to ten albums in their life?

A lot of music 'lovers' are swayed by immediacy. They are caught in the moment. What an uneducated, lackluster moment it is.
